SAN FRANCISCO, March 12, (THEWILL) – The Borno State chapter of a group, Movement for Good Governance, has called on Nigerians to call the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, to order.
The group made the call Thursday, in a statement signed by its chairman, Alhaji Babagana Wulgo, warning that if Fani-Kayode was not cautioned, he might destabilise the nation’s democracy.
Lamenting that the PDP chieftain was on a mission to turn the country upside down with his alleged manipulation of facts, the group said: “We are not surprised about Fani Kayode’s tissue of lies. He is a true son of his late father a.k.a Fani Power, whose treacherous acts and fabrication of cock and bull stories led to the western region crisis.
“He (Fani-Kayode) cannot truncate this democratic process because he and the president are afraid of defeat in the forthcoming elections.”
Warning Fani-Kayode to desist from his “marketing of lies” against the Borno State governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, who, according to the group, is “a man of integrity who has delivered dividends of democracy to the people despite the security challenge,” the statement described Fani-Kayode as a blatant liar, saying “Shettima never participated in the 2011 Borno Gubernatorial Primaries,” adding “ He was a standard bearer and governor by providence.”
According to the group, “When the Chibok girls were taken, the state was under full state of emergency and the governor did reach out to the President, but he refused to act.
“The president rebuffed efforts of the like of Obasanjo who liaised with the state government on how to resolve the Boko Haram challenge, thinking it will be a political mileage to him.
“The likes of Fani-Kayode, an alleged money launderer and a man who talks as if his brain is under his feet have no place in civilised societies like ours. He is better as “jester” in a village market in the south west.
“We urge Governor Shettima not to be distracted by bread-winning adventurers like Fani-Kayode who can sell his father’s graveside for money.”
