December 28, (THEWILL) – The Leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, said the problems faced by Cross River State and Nigeria will pass away.

Leader Obu made this known in Calabar, while formally reacting to the Bikers Carnival tragedy at the ongoing Calabar Carnival, where at least seven people were killed and over twenty-nine injured.

Leader Obu, who spoke through the spokesman of the organisation, The Patriarch, Christ Shepherd Amah M. Williams, expressed deep concern and sympathy with the families of the victims.

In his words, “It is a deep tragedy beyond comprehension for those involved.

“His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, therefore, extends His perfect peace that calms every situation to the friends and families of the victims and heartfelt condolence to the Government and good people of Cross River State.

“He has assured Nigeria and the people of Cross River State of God’s divine protection and provision as the challenges being faced today, in the country, shall all pass away.

“He urged Nigerians to continue to live in peace and love, especially as the entire Christendom celebrate the birth of Christ, on whose shoulders mankind rode to salvation”, he said.

He emphasised that “for more than six decades, this city has hosted Brotherhood of the Cross and Star and all our activities and together with the Government of Cross River State, the Calabar Community and the good people of Cross River State, the thoughts and prayers of all members of BCS are with the victims and the injured.

“Be pledged the commitment of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu to continue to support efforts to stabilise those affected and their families.”
