CAF Confed Cup: TP Mazembe Dominates Bamako In 3-1 Win

February 13, (THEWILL) – Congolese giants, TP Mazembe, kicked off their TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign with a 3-1 victory against Real de Bamako, at the Stade Frederic Kibassa Maliba.

Jephte Kitambala and Alex Ngonga each scored with a stunning overhead kick, while Patient Mwamba sealed the victory with a long-range screamer.

Mazembe dominated the match from the start, with Kitambala breaking the deadlock in the 24th minute with a beautiful overhead kick. However, their lead was short-lived as Souleymane Coulibaly equalised for the Malian side just eight minutes later.

Ngonga regained Mazembe’s lead with another acrobatic goal in the first half, and Mwamba’s half-volley in the second half secured the win for the home side. The victory puts Mazembe at the top of Group D in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
