December 28, (THEWILL) – The draw for the 2021-2022 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup group stage was held at CAF Headquarters, Cairo, Egypt.
Pitso Mosimane, coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, accompanied CAF Head of Competitions Khaled Nassar in the draw, which produced some exciting matchups.
Having qualified ahead of Nigeria’s Bayelsa United, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia are in Group A where they will contend against the Pyramids of Egypt, Zambia’s Zanaco and Ahly Tripoli of Libya.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s Orlando Pirates were drawn in Group B and are likely to face two Algerian clubs in JS Kabylie and JS Saoura, if the former can overcome Eswatini’s Royal Leopards in their standout tie. Libya’s Al Ittihad completes the group’s four-team format.
