SAN FRANCISCO, March 05, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, visited Taraba state for an on the spot assessment of the recent attacks involving Mambilla indigenes.
Reports indicate that the killings which began on Thursday has claimed over 20 lives while over 300 cattles have been rustled in clashes between herders, locals and cattle rustlers.
Following his trip, Buhari is expected to travel to Ghana to mark the country’s 61st Independence Anniversary celebrations after which he will also visit Benue, Yobe, Zamfara and Rivers states.
The visit comes on the heels of recent criticisms following terrorist attacks, criminal activities as well as the abduction of over 100 school girls from Dapchi, Yobe state.
