Buhari, On Phone To Turkish Leader At Eid-el-Fitr, Prays For Peace, End To COVID-19

BEVERLY HILLS, May 15, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has initiated a phone call to his Turkish counterpart, Tecep Tayyep Erdoğan, where the two leaders had fruitful discussions.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed the development in a statement in Abuja on Saturday.

Buhari, who put a call across to his Turkish counterpart, Tecep Tayyep Erdoğan, expressed satisfaction about the relations existing between the two countries.

The President used the occasion to, on behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, extend a sincere message of goodwill and felicitation on the important occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to President Erdoğan and the people of Turkey.

Buhari expressed gratitude to Allah for granting the ability to perform the important obligations of the month of Ramadan.

The two leaders, according to Shehu, expressed their earnest desire for peace and stability to reign in the world, and for an end to all ongoing conflicts as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
