March 24, (THEWILL) – Principal officers of the Senate elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will today at 1pm meet with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
A top party source told THEWILL that the principal officers are expected to arrive the State House Conference Centre at 11:30 am for a rapid COVID-19 test and to be seated at meeting venue by 12:30 pm.
Although, the agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, but THEWILL further gathered that it may not be unconnected to the controversy surrounding the controversial Section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022 and the party’s National Convention scheduled for Saturday, 26th March, 2022.
Recall that President Buhari had on Wednesday met with the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), who agreed to the consensus candidates canvassed by the president to emerge as officers of the new National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in the March 26 National Convention.
