October 07, (THEWILL) – Veteran nollywood actor, Chinwetalu Agu, has been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Army.
He was picked up at the popular Upper Iweka area of Onitsha, Anambra State.
THEWILL learning, Agu was arrested for adorning himself with Biafra insignia. He was on a charitable mission where he shared food items to the less privileged.
A trending video showed where Agu was arrested by the officers who dragged him into a vehicle and zoomed off immediately.
His colleague, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the incident as regrettable and a violation of human rights.
He said, “Chinwetara Agu likes identifying with anything Biafra, particularly their muffler. A military friend just called me some minutes ago informing me about the development. He said he’s currently in their custody.
“He was taken to the Onitsha Cantonment from where I have learnt he has been taken to 82 Div Enugu.”
Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the Command was aware of the incident but was yet to receive the full details.
