August 07, (THEWILL) – At least three ministerial nominees, including Stella Okotete of Delta, Kaduna’s Nasiru el-Rufai and Taraba’s Abubakar Danladi, may have been dropped as Ministers of the federal republic by the Senate.
Although it is unclear why President Bola Tinubu stepped down their nominations. However, THEWILL reports that Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said the three nominees are yet to get security clearance
He said 45 nominees have so far been confirmed by the Senate.
THEWILL, however, reports that El-Rufai was dropped because he insisted on being assigned a particular portfolio, which the president is not inclined to approving.
Okotete may have been dropped because she is from the same senatorial district as Festus Keyamo SAN, the last nominee, who was screened and cleared today.
