BEVERLY HILLS, October 21, (THEWILL) – Security operatives are still firing rounds at some defiant youths who are still on the streets in Lekki despite a dusk to dawn curfew imposed on the state by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Witnesses, who live in Lekki Phase 1, near the highway told THEWILL that they heard multiple gun fire around 7am local time. They said it appears the #EndSARS protesters, who are demanding government reforms and an end to police brutality, were still being shot at by state forces.
DJ Switch, who streamed Tuesday night’s shooting of protesters by soldiers, confirmed in a fresh live stream Wednesday morning that some remnants of the group, who were still in the area, were shot at this morning by security personnel.
Tuesday night’s shooting of the unarmed protesters was greeted by outright condemnation from across the world. At least 30 persons were wounded, according to Mr. Sanwo-Olu.
Despite the KILLINGS and even at the point Of DEATH, #EndSARS Protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, Nigerian still remain peaceful with no retaliation at all.✊#LekkiMassacre #EndSARS #StopNigeriaGovernment pic.twitter.com/Di8nDA3JIl
