August 02, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu has requested the Senate to screen and confirm the immediate-past governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola and eighteen other ministerial nominees as members of his Federal Executive Council.
The request was contained in a letter addressed to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and read at plenary on Wednesday.
THEWILL reports that the President had, on Thursday, July 27, forwarded a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate with the promise to send another batch.
Unveiling the supplementary list of 19- ministerial nominees on Wednesday evening, at plenary, Senate President Akpabio said President Tinubu, in the letter, explained that the confirmation request was in accordance with the provisions of Section 147 subsection 2 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
