June 22, (THEWILL) – A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced to seven years imprisonment a former Member of the House of Representatives from Kano State, Farouk Lawan, over a $500,000 bribe collected from billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
Justice Angella Otaluka convicted Lawan on the three-count charge on which he was tried by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The Judge sentenced Lawan to seven years imprisonment in respect of the first two counts and five years on the third.
