Bomb Blast Rocks Central Market In Bauchi

SAN FRANCISCO, December 22, (THEWILL) – A bomb has exploded at the Central Market in Bauchi metropolis, Bauchi State, northeastern Nigeria and has killed many people, an eyewitness said.

The blast occurred late Monday evening as the market was closing down for the day, the witness said.

The blast is coming a few hours after a Motor Park was hit in neighbouring Gombe State, killing at least 15 persons and wounded twice as many.

News reports quoting security sources say at least 10 persons were killed during the attack, but Mr. Saidu Kadas, the Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, where victims were transported for treatment told reporters that the actual figure of the dead could not be ascertained as more victims were being brought in as at the time of filing this report.
