Bobby Brown won’t rest until his late daughter Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend Nick Gordon is found criminally responsible for her death.
However, since the court found Gordon civilly responsible, Brown has reached a state of “calmness.”
“Just knowing that he’s legally responsible for my daughter’s death has given me a bit of calmness to waiting for the D.A.,” Bobby, 47, told pastor T.D. Jakes on Wednesday’s episode of “The T.D. Jakes Show” (via People). “There’s a lot of strange things that will come out in the criminal charges against Nick.”
Gordon repeatedly failed to meet court deadlines in the wrongful death case, forcing the court to rule that Bobbi Kristina’s estate had won by default. A jury trial will determine just how much Gordon will be forced to pay in damages.
Now, Bobby hopes the D.A. will file charges against Gordon.
As the story goes, Bobbi Kristina was found face-down and unresponsive in a bathtub in January 2015. For the following six months, she lay in a coma until her death in July 2015 at age 22. The circumstances of her death are still unclear.
“My daughter was afraid of tubs because of what happened to her mom,” Bobby said, referencing his late ex-wife Whitney Houston‘s death by accidental drowning in February 2012 at age 48. “So I know she wouldn’t have gotten in the tub. I mean it’s crazy because the tub wasn’t even full of water. It had a dustpan in it, in the bottom of the tub.”
