SAN FRANCISCO, December 11, (THEWILL) – Billionaire businessman, Ayodeji Ismail Karim, has made a name for himself in Corporate Nigeria and even beyond. His antecedents precede him anywhere he goes. The smooth-talking moneybag is considered one of the most visionary corporate leaders in the country, with several awards in his kitty.
However, the Managing Director of Costain West Africa made a foray into politics during the 2019 general election and got baptismal of fire when he contested the number one job of Oyo State, on the platform of the ruling party of his state, All Progressives Congress, APC. He lost. Despite losing gallantly at the primaries, the Ibadan, Oyo State-born businessman, has forged on. The visionary that he is, it didn’t take Karim time to get over the defeat in spite of the huge war chest he committed to the aborted project.
He quickly picked up the pieces of his life and immediately went back to his original boardroom job, which suffered a temporary setback during his political foray.
Karim has also expanded his horizon by investing heavily in the agro-allied business with focus on livestock.
THE WILL gathered that the head honcho of Winchester livestock farm situated on a large expanse of land in Egbeda area along Ibadan-Ife Expressway is delving into the hospitality business. He is currently building a plaza with a lounge named; ‘Pythagoras’ situated at the highbrow, Felele junction by Idi-Odo area of Ibadan, Oyo state. The building would be launched on his birthday on December, 18 2020.
Said a source; ‘‘The building is not just housing the lounge. It has everything entertainments needs ranging from; food, drinks, grills, gaming store, unisex salon and others. Work is ongoing to meet the deadline. Ayo is not sparing any cost to make the lounge heavenly with the very best of interior decorations and modern home facility. It will be a rendezvous spot for the high and mighty in Oyo state and Nigeria.’’
He still has his eyes on politics. The polo-loving dude is said to have gone back to the drawing board to strategise ahead of the 2023 election. He has been canvassing for support among stakeholders and party faithful, in the bid to broaden his public acceptance and re-assure followers that the PDP victory at the last poll was only momentary.
