November 16, (THEWILL) – American singer, Beyoncé Knowles, has emerged as the most nominated Grammy award artiste. Her album “Renaissance Era” has earned her another spot in Grammy’s history.
The Recording Academy announced that the music act has clinched nine nominations for the 65th Annual Grammy Awards, taking her overall count of total Grammy nominations to 88.
With her latest feat, the singer is now one of the most-nominated artistes ever, tying with her husband, Jay-Z, who also holds 88 nominations. She is also now the first female artiste to reach 80 nominations.
This year, Beyoncé has nominations in the categories of Album of the Year for “Renaissance”, Record of the Year for “Break my Soul”, Song of the Year for “Break My Soul,” Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for “Renaissance”, Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul”, Best R&B Performance for “Virgo’s Groove”, Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic off the Sofa”, Best R&B Song for “Cuff It”, and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Be Alive” from King Richard.
In 2020, she became the most-nominated female artiste and the artiste with the second-most Grammy nominations, tying with Paul McCartney who has 79 nominations.
At the time, only Jay-Z and producer Quincy Jones topped her Grammy nomination count, with 80 nominations each, according to the official Grammy website.
The recent nominations set Beyoncé up to become the artiste with the most Grammy wins. Currently, prolific conductor, Georg Solti holds the title with 31 awards under his belt. Thus far, Beyoncé has won 28 golden gramophones, making her the most-awarded female artiste.
