Beraldo Complete Move To PSG But Injury Stalls Moscardo’s Transfer

January 01, (THEWILL) – Highly-rated 20-year-old centre-back, Lucas Beraldo, has finalised a transfer from Brazilian side Sao Paulo to French giants Paris Saint-Germain. Beraldo established himself as a key player for Sao Paulo in 2023, attracting attention from top European clubs, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

PSG moved quickly to secure the talented defender’s signature, with Beraldo signing a 5-year contract after the clubs agreed a fee reported to be around £25 million. Beraldo expressed his delight at the move, stating: “I am very happy to join a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain. This is an important step in my career, which will help me progress. I can’t wait to get to know my new teammates and take my first steps in this jersey.”

The Brazilian is seen as one of the most promising young talents in South America and will provide competition for Presnel Kimpembe and Marquinhos in central defence. Beraldo was expected to be followed to Parc des Princes by 18-year-old midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who PSG moved to sign from Corinthians ahead of European giants Chelsea and Barcelona.

However, a late injury has provided an obstacle to finalising Moscardo’s switch from the Brazilian club. The talented teenager’s medical with PSG raised concerns over a foot problem, leading Moscardo to confirm he will require preventative surgery that will rule him out for around 3 months.

PSG remain keen to push through the signing of Moscardo once he has recovered, but the deal may now be delayed until the summer transfer window.
