March 15, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after securing a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at the Bernabeu.
The Spanish team proved to be the superior side on the night, with Karim Benzema’s 19th goal of the season sealing the deal. Real Madrid had built a 5-2 aggregate lead from the first leg, leaving Liverpool with a seemingly impossible task.

Having booked their quarter-finals berth, Real Madrid will now focus squarely on their El Clasico tie against La Liga rivals Barcelona, which is billed for Sunday, while Liverpool must regroup ahead of their daunting trip to Manchester City on April 1.
