November 03, (THEWILL) – Afrobeat singer, Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, known professionally as Bella Shmurda, has pledged to assume responsibility for the child left behind by his late colleague and friend, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a heartfelt message on his Instagram story, the singer expressed the ongoing struggle to come to terms with the loss of Mohbad, revealing that he has turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism since his friend’s passing.
The singer revealed that he regrets the fact that Liam, the son of late Mohbad who is named after his father, would grow up not knowing him.
Nevertheless, he vowed to uphold Mohbad’s legacy and ensure the well-being of Liam.
Sharing a picture of Mohbad, Bella Shmurda wrote: “You told me to stop it. I have been trying. I just hope you’re okay where you are, cos I have not been happy for days. I have been drinking and going back and forth on how to move on.
“It’s sad that Abiola Imole never got to know you. But be rest assured that I will tell your story. And I will definitely take care of our fruit. I’m passing all the love to our sons.
