August 30, (THEWILL) – Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye housemate, Michael, says his parents’ separation affected him while growing up as a kid.
The California-based music producer disclosed this during a conversation with fellow housemate, Jackie B, on Monday during the workout session at the gym.
According to Michael, his parents’ separation prevented him from bonding with his father while growing up.
He said, “Sometimes I feel bad because growing up, we didn’t really have a good relationship with our father because he and mum were ‘beefing.’
“You know how it goes. When the kids are little, chances are they go with their mum. Shout out to my mum. My mum did her best in a real way but her and my dad fighting negatively influenced the kids for sure.
“So, in my entire childhood all the way to like 16, 17 or probably 18, I didn’t have a relationship with my dad at all. When I think back, I’m like, that’s a lot of years that we could have just bonded.”
“When did you guys start bonding?” Jackie B asked.
“It wasn’t till I was in the University. I was like 18 or 19,” Michael respond
