October 5, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich extended their unbeaten streak in UEFA Champions League group stage matches to a record-setting 31 games on Tuesday with a convincing 5-0 defeat of Viktoria Plzen with Leroy Sane in a standout performance.
The defending Czech champions Viktoria, who are without a point at the halfway mark of Group C fixtures, were three goals down at the Allianz Arena after just 21 minutes.
Sane opened the scoring in the seventh minute with teammates Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mane added to the scoreline in the 13th and 21st minutes as Bayern sailed to their third straight victory in this season’s competition.
Before their crucial Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund, Bayern upped the goal scoring to five with Sane’s second goal and an immediate goal from substitute Eric Choupo-Moting.
In their next tie, Bayern will take to the road to meet Borussia Dortmund in the first Der Klassiker of the season while in the Czech Liga, Plzen hosts Mlada Boleslav on Saturday.
