October 30, (THEWILL) – On Sunday at the Swiss Indoors Basel, Felix Auger-Aliassime, prevailed over Holger Run, in a match featuring two previously unbreakable serves to claim the ATP 500 tournament in Switzerland.

Neither the Canadian nor Holger Rune had been broken before the final, but Auger-Aliassime twice unpicked Dane’s serve to seal a 6-3, 7-5 triumph and win his third consecutive ATP Tour title.

Auger-Aliassime extended his personal-best winning streak with his 13th straight win at the tour level. The 22-year-old moved up one spot to sixth in the Pepperstone ATP Live Race to Turin with the one-hour, 40-minute victory.

The Canadian has now passed Andrey Rublev, and his stellar play has given him a good chance to become a first-time qualifier for the Nitto ATP Finals. As the players head to this week’s Rolex Paris Masters, Auger-Aliassime is now 725 points ahead of eighth-placed Taylor Fritz, with seventh being the final spot to secure qualifying for the season finale.

So far this year, Auger-Aliassime is the third player to win an ATP Tour championship without losing a service game, behind Taylor Fritz and Nick Kyrgios, who won in Eastbourne and Washington, respectively. Rune, despite losing, will break into the Top 20 of the Pepperstone ATP Rankings for the first time on Monday.
