BEVERLY HILLS, AUGUST 26, (THEWILL) – THEWILL has gathered that Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, was attacked by aggrieved residents of the state, on Friday, as he emerged from a mosque where he observed Jumat prayer in Lokoja, the state capital.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at the Lokoja Central Mosque in the old market area of the capital adding that the Governor was stoned with rotten fruits and vegetables.
Others however carried placards with anti-government slogans and were chanting against the Governor.
However, the police dispersed the crowd with teargas soon afterwards.
THEWILL gathered that Friday’s attack was the second time the governor would be so attacked in two weeks as he was also attacked at an event in Ankpa.
