December 18, (THEWILL) – Rebecca Ikumelo, one of the four critically injured victims of the pandemonium at the South London concert of Nigerian music star, Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, has died.
She succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Saturday, December 17.
Ikumelo, who was from Newham, was left in a critical condition, following the stampede at the Afrobeat sensation’s show on Thursday, December 15.
She was 33 years old and a single mother to two young boys, one of who was autistic.
She was well known on Tik Tok for always speaking out about autism and always sharing stories about her autistic son.
Recent videos of her show her setting up her Christmas tree, while talking about how the year has been for her.
About 3,000 people without tickets had broken into Brixton Academy, the venue of the concert, causing congestion and crushing amongst the crowd.
The Metropolitan police were then called to the scene to cancel the show amid security concerns.
Unfortunately, at least eight amongst the concert-goers, suffered different degrees of injuries, with four of them being left in critical conditions.
