December 16, (THEWILL) – Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, has cancelled his London show for breach of security.
The singer was supposed to hold the last leg of his London show on Thursday night, at 02 Academy, Brixton, before the unprecedented happened.
Pandemium broke out shortly after the singer started performing on stage. People broke into the entrance and caused a stampede.
Four concert goers were reportedly injured in the process, while two people were reportedly stabbed outside the venue as crowd struggled to get in.
According to the police officers who walked up the stage to address the crowd, it was stated that over 3,000 people stood outside and were freezing under the cold with more congested inside the auditorium too.
The audience who were not having any of it raised their voices out because of the cancellation of the show.
Fans clashed with the police and a lady was pushed to the ground as she tried confronting the officers.
Taking to his Instagram page, Asake released a statement about the scenario. He revealed that he is praying for the injuried and in the process of reaching out to the individuals.
“My heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort. I pray you get well soonest. I am also in the process of reaching out to individuals. I still do not have the full brief from the venue management themselves as to what led to the disruption at the entrance of the Brixton Academy.
“We are thankful that all was peaceful at the end. For my people who enjoyed the beginning of my performance, I am sorry that it was cut short. Thank you for your unbelievable love London. I love you too much! I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a bit!!”.
