March 15, (THEWILL) – Arsenal’s Manager, Mikel Arteta, has named Rafael Nadal as his number-one idol, citing the tennis superstar’s mentality, achievements, and resilience as qualities he admires most.
Speaking at a press conference, Arteta expressed his hope that Real Madrid supporter, Nadal would opt for Arsenal over Tottenham if he were to attend a match in north London. Arsenal is set to play Sporting CP in the Europa League last-16 second leg, with Arteta expressing his excitement at playing in front of a large home crowd in a European competition.
The Arsenal Manager also provided a positive update on Gabriel Jesus, who made a return from a four-month lay-off against Fulham. The striker’s return has been a boost for Arsenal, with Arteta saying that “it was great to see him back… he’s feeling good and every day he’s training he says his sensations are better so that’s really positive.”
Meanwhile, Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, revealed he admires Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, joking that he was upset actress Julia Roberts had visited City’s rivals Manchester United in the past. He holds her in high esteem in much the same way as Arteta holds Nadal.
