Arsenal Staff Test Positive For COVID-19

December 13, (THEWILL) – Arsenal’s COVID-19 policies are being tightened after staff members at the Premier League club tested positive for the virus. A limited number of training ground workers tested positive, and no players has been affected as of yet.

In response to the news, Arsenal reinforced their COVID-19 policies to prevent the virus from spreading. Players were being tested in their cars as of Monday before being allowed to attend training, as was the case during Project Restart to resume the 2019-20 season.

This season, Arsenal has already had to deal with a COVID-19 epidemic, with four players testing positive on the opening weekend of the season, ahead of a 2-0 loss to Brentford.

In light of the new COVID-19 guidelines in England, the Premier League’s 20 clubs were advised last week to return to emergency measures.

The protocols were implemented at the start of the season, and include social distancing at stadiums and training grounds.

Some clubs began to relax restrictions but then tightened them again to prevent the spread of the Omicron variety.

Following a COVID-19 outbreak at Tottenham Hotspur, the Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion was postponed, while a handful of Leicester players did not go to Italy for their Europa League group game against Napoli on Thursday.

Manchester United is in negotiations with the Premier League about their game against Brentford on Tuesday after their training ground was forced to close for 24 hours due to a COVID-19 outbreak, as THEWILL reported.
