August 21, (THEWILL) – With a convincing 3-0 win at Bournemouth, Arsenal kept their perfect Premier League record intact in Saturday’s matchday three fixture.
Captain of Mikel Arteta’s side, Martin Ødegaard, scored twice in the first 11 minutes to put the Gunners in charge. Bournemouth managed just one touch inside the Arsenal box in all of the first half as a whole.
In the second half, William Saliba scored his first goal for the team to increase the lead, and the very influential Gabriel Jesus had a goal disallowed for offside.
With the victory, Arsenal now holds the illustrious distinction of being the only Premier League team to have won its first three games of the year, although defending champions, Manchester City, can join them on nine points with a victory at Newcastle United on Sunday.
Arsenal’s three victories in a row mean the Gunners currently lead the standings. They will face Fulham at home next. Meanwhile, the home unbeaten streak for Bournemouth comes to an end, as they must focus on their midweek EFL Cup match against Norwich City.
