Arsenal Fight Back To Beat Bournemouth 3-2, Retake Five-Point EPL Lead

March 04, (THEWILL) – In an electrifying match, Arsenal overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat Bournemouth 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Bournemouth shocked the home crowd when Philip Billing scored just ten seconds into the game, with Marcos Senesi doubling the lead with a powerful header from a corner kick. Arsenal were reeling, but they managed to get back into the game, thanks to a goal from Thomas Partey, and a fantastic strike from Reiss Nelson in the 97th minute sealed the win for the Gunners.

Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil had described the Emirates Stadium as the toughest place to go, and his team made a mockery of that statement when they took the lead just seconds into the match. Arsenal’s center-backs Gabriel and William Saliba were caught napping, and Billing was able to tap in from close range.

In the second half, Bournemouth then doubled their lead from a corner kick, with Senesi heading the ball past a helpless Aaron Ramsdale. Arsenal managed to pull a goal back when Partey scored from close range after a corner kick was poorly cleared. The rest of the match was a tense affair, with Arsenal pushing forward and Bournemouth defending resolutely. Arsenal created several chances, but they were unable to find the back of the net until Ben White equalised and Nelson’s late heroics won the game.

The win sees Arsenal restore their five-point lead at the top of the English Premier League, but they will face a tough test when they travel to face Sporting CP in the UEFA Europa League. Bournemouth will host Liverpool in their next EPL game.
