December 25, (THEWILL) – Just a few days after the passing of Chinedu Udechukwu, a former player for Nasarawa United, another death has struck the Nigerian football community.

A former Katsina United and Katsina United player, Ebuka David Odenigbo, has reportedly passed away following a brief illness in Jos, Plateau State.

Odenigbo joined Kano Pillars in 2019 following a strong performance in the HIFL Nigeria and according to reports made available surrounding the circumstances of the player’s demise, Odenigbo was confirmed dead following a brief illness.

This unfortunate incident comes one year and six months after his footballer brother, Kelvin Odenigbo, drowned in a lake in Belarus, in suspicious circumstances, as THEWILL reported in June of last year. It is yet another tragic development for the Odenigbo family.

As mentioned earlier, THEWILL recalls that prior to Odenigbo’s death, Udechukwu, the former Nasarawa United, Sunshine Stars, and Enyimba striker, died after slumping and not regaining consciousness on Wednesday. Udechukwu, who moved from Sunshine Stars to Nasarawa United midway into the 2019/2020 season, had complained of a bad headache before the slumping that led to his death.
