SAN FRANCISCO, May 20, (THEWILL) – The widow of deceased U.S. senator and the first U.S. astronaut to orbit earth is dead.
According to the Voice Of America, she passed away at 100 and stayed in nursing home in St. Paul, Minnesota. She died four years after her husband passed on.
The governor of Ohio State, Mike Dewine, confirmed the news via a tweet but didn’t disclose the cause of her death.

“This is a very sad day for all Ohioans. Annie Glenn was certainly our most beloved Ohioan. She represented all that is good about our country,” he wrote.
