Ancelotti Inks Fresh Contract With Real Madrid Through 2026

December 29, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid have secured manager Carlo Ancelotti to a new contract, keeping the decorated Italian at the helm of the Spanish giants through June 2026. The new deal puts to rest speculation that Ancelotti could depart Madrid after this season, with the Brazil national team publicly stating a desire to bring him in as their next manager.

The 63-year-old Italian has enjoyed immense success across his two stints with Real Madrid, winning the UEFA Champions League crown an impressive four times along with a whole host of other domestic and European silverware. Since rejoining Los Blancos in 2021, he has already added more Champions League titles, FIFA Club World Cups, a La Liga championship and Spanish Super Cup to his bursting trophy cabinet.

The contract extension is a just reward for Ancelotti revitalising Real Madrid over the past two seasons. As the club statement read, “Carlo Ancelotti is the only coach to have won 4 European Cups and the one to have achieved the most victories in the history of this competition, and he is also the first coach to win the five major European Leagues.”

Ancelotti has managed across Europe’s top leagues for over two decades, enjoying success in Italy, England, France, Germany and Spain. Before returning to Real Madrid, he spent time at the helm of Napoli and Everton. He also managed Italian giants AC Milan, English stalwarts Chelsea and Champions League victors Bayern Munich.

With his future now certain for the next three and a half years, Ancelotti will be aiming to further establish his Real Madrid legacy by winning even more trophies. His esteemed coaching pedigree and knack for getting the best out of his talented squads make that a very real possibility.
