BEVERLY HILLS, June 03, (THEWILL) – American rapper, Wisdom Awute, and an unknown man are facing attempted murder charges in a shooting that injured two people in Miami Beach earlier this week.
According to Miami Beach Police officials, Wisdom Awute, a member of DaBaby’s Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment label, and Christopher Urena were arrested in connection with the shooting.
Awute, 21, and Urena, 29 are facing charges of attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault. Also, Urena also faces charges of grand theft and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police got multiple 911 calls reporting the shooting just after 11:30pm on Monday along the popular strip of Art Deco hotels and restaurants. Officers saw one person struck in the shoulder and another in the leg near the Prime 112 restaurant.
The duo, who were victims of the attack, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and one remained in critical condition after he was paralyzed,
The other victim was treated and released.
According to the arrest report, Urena was involved in an argument with another group of men before he pulled out a gun and opened fire.
He shot one of the victims in the leg, the report stated.
