Alleged Rape: D’banj’s Accuser’s Lawyer Does Not Want Your Money, Says Calls For Donations Are Fraudulent

BEVERLY HILLS, June 20, (THEWILL) – Mr. Tommy Ojoge-Daniel who is the lawyer representing Miss Seyitan Babatayo, the lady, who accused the Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj aka “Kokomaster” of rape has enjoined Nigerians not to contribute money for prosecute the case because he is doing it for free.

THEWILL had reported that Seyitan had alleged that she was raped by the entertainer in 2018 inside a hotel room. The artiste denies the allegation.

The Inspector General of Police had requested for the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

Ojoge-Daniel in an interview with The Punch said he saw a post on social media seeking donations from Nigerians to fund Seyitan’s legal fees. He said it was fraudulent.

THEWILL notes that one particular post on Twitter by @wineandwhineng read: “Hi everyone. Together, today, we raised N1, 640,000 for the legal fund, all of which have been properly remitted to and accounted for with @StandtoEndRape.

“This will help us kick-start the defence process and also help Seyitan herself. Thank you to everyone who lent their voice.”

Ojoge-Daniel said: “Please kindly inform Nigerians that the online publication calling on Nigerians to donate money for the settlement of Seyitan’s legal fees is based on a lie. I am handling this case pro bono.

“It is very important for Nigerians to know this so that no one defrauds them.”
