August 24, (THEWILL) – Saudi Pro League outfit, Al Ittihad, have reignited interest in Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, reviving speculation about the Egyptian’s potential move.

The likelihood of a deal for the 31-year-old remains uncertain. Salah’s agent dismissed earlier reports in August connecting the player with a transfer to the Saudi Arabian club. Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas, stated on August 7, following widespread speculation, “If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC.”

THEWILL recalls that Salah inked a new three-year contract last summer, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history with a weekly wage of around £350,000. During this transfer window, Liverpool have already lost two experienced players to Saudi Arabia. Ex-captain, Jordan Henderson, moved to Al Ettifaq for £12m, while Fabinho completed a £40m switch to Al Ittihad.

Al Ittihad have also secured signings of note this summer, including Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante. Salah, part of Liverpool’s leadership group under Jurgen Klopp, posted an impressive record last season with 30 goals across various competitions.

The forward has already made a notable impact in the inchoate 2023/2024 English Premier League season, tallying a goal and an assist in his initial two matches.
