Akwa Ibom Police Vow To Unearth Killers Of Banking Layout Popular Farmer

January 23, (THEWILL) – Akwa Ibom State Police Command have vowed to arrest those who killed and beheaded a lady who farms around Banking Layout, Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo, the state capital.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Sunday night, as residents of the area and bank workers were shocked at the sight of the headless body of the lady on Monday morning, as they resumed work.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, explained that the corpse of the woman was found in a pool of her blood near the fence of the Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) with her head sharply cut off from the body, but was quickly evacuated by the police.

“We were shocked on Monday morning when we came to work and found the corpse lying close to our entrance,” the source said.

Another eyewitness working with the State Revenue Service, who refused to mention her name, said the victim cultivates fallow land around the banking layout and lives on the farm.

Confirming the incident, Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Odiko Mcdon, said the Command received a report of the incident and the State Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusimmi, has ordered an investigation into the incident.

“We received the report and our men rushed to the scene. She was beheaded but other parts of the body were intact.

“The Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durusimmi, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident.

“We assure Akwa Ibom people that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be brought to book,” the PPRO stated.
