BEVERLY HILLS, May 30, (THEWILL) – Akunna Okey and seven other contestants in the Nigerian Idol singing competition have been selected to participate in the next edition of the event. Akunna’s performance of “Loving Your Way” by Seyi Shay, who happens to be one of the judges, was quite thrilling. Even the judges couldn’t help but shower praises on her. Sheyi Shay, the copyright owner of the song, was so impressed that she openly wondered if it was the same song she recorded.
One of the judges, DJ Sose also said he preferred Akunna’s performance of the song to the original. Other contestants whose performances earned them commendation from the judges and who will be staying for the next show are Kingdom Kroseide, Akunna Okey, Faith Onyeje, Francis Atela, Daniel Ikechi, Beyonce Ajomiwe, Comfort Alalade and Emmanuel Elijah.
