November 14, (THEWILL) – Just less than 72 hours after a Boeing 737 Aero aircraft made bad landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), in Abuja, on Sunday, another aircraft, a ValueJet CRJ 900 Bombardie, on Tuesday, slipped off the runway at Port-Harcourt International Airport.
The aircraft with registration number 5N-BXR, which had 62 passengers and five flight crew members, overshot the runway when it landed at 15.32 hours.
Confirming the incident, Managing Director of ValueJet, Capt. Dapo Majekodunmi, said the slip was a result of algae on the taxiway, preventing the aircraft from maintaining the centreline.
