Again, Nigeria’s New COVID-19 Cases Drop To 288 As NCDC Tests Slows Significantly

BEVERLY HILLS, August 3, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Monday reported 288 confirmed new cases of the deadly coronavirus, the first straight decline, to bring the tally in the country to 44, 129, with 20, 663 recoveries and 896 deaths (8 new).

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, said Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, added 88 new cases while Kwara posted 33 and Osun 27. See below for a full breakdown.

The NCDC, which puts its daily testing capacity at around three thousand five hundred samples, recorded a significant drop Monday. Nigeria has an estimated population of about 200 million.

According to data released by the NCDC, on July 30, 2020, it tested 279, 675 samples. On July 31, 2020, it tested 283, 916, on August 1, 2020, it tested 286, 091 and August 2, 2020, test was 287, 532.
