BEVERLY HILLS, June 23 (THEWILL) – Coming on a day two amazons of death rocked the Baga Fish Market in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, rampaging Boko Haram insurgents also on Monday stormed Debiro village in Hawul local government in the southern part of the state, killing no fewer than 20 residents.
Arriving the village in their characteristic style, the terrorists, who rode on motor bikes and pick-up vehicles, started shooting sporadic as the residents of the village scampered for safety.
A local resident, who escaped being killed in the attack, said in Maiduguri on Tuesday that many of the victims of the attack were either hit by the sporadic shootings as others had their throats slit by the terrorists, who also set most houses in the village ablaze.
“They came in the afternoon and there was confusion everywhere. They started shooting at people. Some died from gunshots, while some had their throats slit. Our foodstuffs were equally carted away by the hoodlums. At least 20 people were killed,” the resident said.
