June 07, (THEWILL) – Burkina Faso came from behind to beat Eswatini 3-1 in the TotalEnergies 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, scoring three second-half goals to keep their spotless record intact.
At the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday, the Stallions scored three goals in sixteen minutes in the second half to defeat Eswatini. Forward Dango Aboubacar Ouattara was the hero for his team, scoring two goals to lead his country to a crucial away victory.
In the 64th minute, Sabelo Ndzinisa broke the tie, but the Burkinabes rallied to score two consecutive goals through Ouattara before Stephane Aziz Ki confirmed the victory emphatically. Because defender Lindo Mkhonta was sent off six minutes from time, Eswatini finished the game with 10 men.
The stunning recovery guarantees that the West Africans make it two victories out of two games in Group B of the qualifications, giving them a five-point advantage. Later in the day, Cape Verde will play Togo in the group’s other game.
