BEVERLY HILLS, March 12, (THEWILL) – Nigerian troops have completely retaken Adamawa State, northeastern Nigeria, from the control of Boko Haram, Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters said in a tweet on Thursday.

Federal troops Thursday defeated Boko Haram militants in Madagali, the last town under the group’s control in the state, without recording any casualties, the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, who has been on a tour mission in the North-East, said.

The Nigerian armed forces with the support of multi-regional troops from Benin, Chad, Cameroun and Niger have severely degraded the capabilities of the Boko Haram, a terrorist group that says Western education is a sin.

The Boko Haram had previously captured most of the territories of Adamawa State as well as Borno and Yobe States. The group has however lost most of the areas due to the coordinated onslaught against it by the multi-regional armies and contracted mercenaries from South Africa fighting alongside Nigerian troops.
