SAN FRANCISCO, June 18, (THEWILL) – The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has set up five sub-committees to look at issues that affect the Guild including the controversy surrounding the appointment of Senator Elisha Abbo, who was seen in a video physically assaulting a female inside a sex store, as patron.
His appointment sparked outrage from some members in the industry.
The Guild’s spokesperson, Monalisa Chinda said a committee has been set up to look at the issues and address them. The sub committees will cover welfare, membership, merger and Inter guild activities and a committee for standard contract.
The committee’s heads include Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, who is in charge of standard contract; Bob Manuel Udokwu presides over the committee on membership while former President of the guild, Zack Orji, is head of the merger and Inter guild activities committee.
Also, former president of the guild and veteran actor, Segun Arinze, leads the patrons ratification committee while Desmond Elliot chairs the welfare committee.
