SAN FRANCISCO, June 10, (THEWILL) – Nemesis caught up with three female suicide bombers, Tuesday, in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State as they were consumed in the explosion triggered by the accidental detonation of the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) strapped to their bodies on their way to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a suicide mission.
The state Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Opadokun, who disclosed this , Wednesday at a media briefing in Maiduguri, said:
“Three suspected female suicide bombers died in Konduga LGA , about 18 kilometres to Maiduguri on Tuesday when the IEDs strapped to their bodies detonated on their way to Maiduguri.”
According to Opadokun, “All the three suicide bombers were killed with no other casualty.”
The Police Commissioner who did not give further details also confirmed another explosion in the Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno highway, saying : “At about 15: 30hrs on Tuesday, explosions occurred at Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno highway.”
