SAN FRANCISCO, December 05, (THEWILL) – The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja which was earlier closed following an incident involving a Boeing 747 Saudi Arabian Aircraft, has been re-opened.
The announcement was made by Mr. Nnamdi Udoh, MD, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) while speaking with journalists in Abuja. He also noted that the incident is being investigated by the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB).
A statement released earlier by the ministry of aviation said “A Saudi Arabian B747 cargo aircraft landed in Abuja last night and veered off at the maneuvering area of the runway, ran into a maintenance area of the runway and stopped.”
Regular flight operations have however resumed since the announcement by the NAMA boss.
