Abducted Ex-UI DVC, Adigun Agbaje Regains Freedom

October 31, (THEWILL) – Professor Adigun Agbaje, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, who was abducted on Friday, has regained his freedom.

Agbaje, who is on sabbatical at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was kidnapped along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway last Friday.

The abductors subsequently contacted his family to demand a N50 million ransom.

The Head of Department, Political Science, University of Ibadan, Professor Remi Aiyede, said Professor Agbaje was released on Sunday and has undergone medical checkup.

“Prof Agbaje has just been released about a few hours ago. He is okay and undergoing medical checkup”, he said.
