BEVERLY HILLS, September 03, (THEWILL) – The PDP Support Group in Cross Rivers State has again restated that the party will be handing a resounding victory to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC in the state should incumbent governor, Professor Ben Ayade emerge as the party’s governorship flagbearer ahead of the 2019 election.
The group in another petition addressed to Prince Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the party, described Ayade who is popularly called Ben10 as a “the worse civilian government ever seen in the State” and “known to Cross Riverians as a fraud, clown, con man, liar, a thief and the most abused Governor in the history of our dear State.”
The full text of the group’s petition signed by Chief Edet Essien Asuquo, its National Coordinator reads:
“We had written to you on the critical need to analyse the candidacy of the incumbent Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade and his administration as we move very close to the party primaries.
Mr Chairman, a Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial ticket for the incumbent Governor of Cross River State is a complete victory for the opposition Party (APC). Governor Ben Ayade (Ben 10) as popularly called in the State has nothing to show for Cross Riverian to even consider him for re-election. His administration is the worse civilian government ever seen in the State. He’s known to Cross Riverians as a fraud, clown, con man, liar, a thief and the most abused Governor in the history of our dear State.
Sir, we as a support group of Peoples Democratic Party in the State is really worried to have him as our flag bearer come 2019 having in mind the centre government and the great role Mr Chairman has played so far in moving our great Party forward. We cannot afford to take such gamble at this point. Sir, we employ you to take an independent assessment of the man Governor Ben Ayade, on the spot view of his achievements so far in the State, the indigenes perception about him and the younger brother Co-Governor Frank Ayade. Recently, the Governor boasted of giving the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party the sum N3.6billion naira to secure the party’s ticket.
To further buttress our points, please find attached pictures of all his so called achievements, over sea trips and fake Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) since after swearing-in as Governor of Cross River State.
The pictures say it all and we dare to challenge anybody on these facts. The pictures attached clearly shows a man without a dream or vision for the State, a man whose sole aim is to steal State funds, divert public funds for personal purpose, divert State properties for family use. A Governor without any feasible project to show, not even a kilometer road has been constructed since assumption of office.
It is on record that no sitting Governor of the State has ever met such an opposition and criticism while seeking 2nd term in office. So the question now is why is Governor Ben Ayade case so different? Why do Cross Riverians, even 95% of his own appointees are against his 2nd Term bid in office?
Sir, there is no concrete project, programmes or policies that can be linked to his administration. Poor/bad road network in Calabar Metropolis and across the State, no portable drinking water, education sector is at its level low, poor health services delivery, Agricultural sector is dying as farmers cannot even boast of fertilizer or good rural roads to bring out their produce to the market. The pensioners are dying every day because the Governor is not paying them their pensions as at when due. They keep protesting to Governor’s Office before they are paid most times. Imprest are not being paid to civil servants by this administration in the State. To be truthful, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade knows nothing about Governance or administration. He needs to take a lecture on Governance/Administration (GSS 101).
Mr Chairman, a bad product cannot be sold no matter the re-packaging and re-branding. Prof. Ayade is even more than a bad product in this context. Can the most hated, most mocked, most criticized and most abused Governor in the history of Cross River State be trusted with the Party ticket this crucial time? The answer is NO. NOT now, NOT this moment, NOT in this critical election, the stakes are too high and the opposition party (APC) is waiting and praying for such an easy ride with Prof. Ben Ayade as our party candidate.
Finally, Mr Chairman we employ you to think wisely, act with the love of our dear Party that you have built since assumption of office. A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for fraudster Governor Ben Ayade is a sure victory for the opposition Party (APC) in Cross River State.”
