October 17, (THEWILL) – Daniel Hernandez, known professionally as 6ix9ine or Tekashi69, is an American rapper. His music has been marked by an aggressive style of rapping, while his controversial public persona is characterised by his distinctive rainbow-coloured hair, extensive tattoos, legal issues, and publicised celebrity feuds.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic on Sunday night, October 15, after being accused of assaulting two music producers amid an apparent beef involving his girlfriend and fellow performer, Yailin La Más Viral.
According to police in the Dominican Republic, Tekashi was taken into custody Sunday night at the Hotel Balcones del Atlántico in Sánchez — located in the province of Samaná.
Police identified the victims as Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García.
Two music producers had accused the performer of beating them up at a music studio in La Vega on Friday, according to the Santo Domingo-based publication Diario Libre. Hernandez allegedly showed up at the studio with four other men around midnight, asking for his girlfriend, Yailin, Diario Libre reported. She had been at the studio recording a song with producer Diamond La Mafia, the report said, then left before Hernandez arrived.

Tekashi has been arrested multiple times before. In 2018, he was detained on racketeering charges for his connection with the Nine Trey Gangsters in New York. Tekashi infamously flipped on his gang and testified for the prosecution, earning himself a lenient two-year sentence.
Recently, Tekashi was arrested in Florida in August for failing to appear in court for a traffic violation. He was accused of driving 136 mph in a 65 mph zone.
