3,110 Kano State Pilgrims Arrive Makkah For Hajj

June 08, (THEWILL) – A total of 3,110 Kano State pilgrims have arrived in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the 2024 Hajj.

The pilgrims were received by officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the Head of the Media Team for Kano State pilgrims and also the spokesperson of the Deputy Governor of Kano State, disclosed this in a statement circulated to newsmen in Kano on Saturday morning.

According to Ibrahim, the pilgrims comprise government and private-sponsored individuals.

The officials of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board welcomed the pilgrims in Makkah and urged them to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner throughout their stay in the Holy City.

The pilgrims will spend several days in Makkah performing various rituals including circumambulating the Kaaba, praying at the Grand Mosque, and sacrificing animals.

The Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslims who are physically and financially capable of performing it.
