2023: Over 12,000 APC Members Defect To PDP In Katsina

October 23, (THEWILL) – No fewer than 12,963 members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), in Jibia and Kaita local government areas of Katsina, have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The defectors were received at the weekend by the PDP Gubernatorial candidate of Katsina state, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke and party leaders in the state.

Among the defectors include the immediate past Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Alhaji Aminu Lawal Jibia, Alhaji Sa’adu Mai Gishiri Kaita and a host of other notable APC members.

Speaking at the event, the PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, assured the people of Jibia that if elected, he will restore security, peace and order in the area within 100 days.

Danmarke lamented that Jibia that was known for business activities has been crippled due to wickedness, hatred and bad government policies.

“We will Insha Allah if elected ensure that Jibia returned to it’s past glory as the window of economic activities in the entire country”, he vowed.

He assured the defectors that they would be carried along in all the party activities in the state.

In his remarks, the leader of the defectors, Alhaji Aminu Lawal Jibia, alleged that there is nothing in APC other than wickedness, hatred and malice.

According to him, “Nobody of substance is now left in APC in Jibia and Kaita.”

On his part, the state PDP chairman, Alhaji Lawal Uli, assured the defectors of Justice and fair play that the party is known for over the years.

He urged them to work hard for the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

The highlight of the event include the burning of brooms which is the symbol of APC by the defectors.
